CV Giving Day is the Coachella Valley’s annual day of philanthropy — mobilizing donors, nonprofits, and community champions across Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, La Quinta, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, Coachella, and surrounding communities.

Launched by Desert Community Foundation and California Bank & Trust and powered by national leader MightyCause, CV Giving Day has raised over $2 million for 200+ local nonprofits since its inception.

Our Mission

To amplify the impact of philanthropy in the Coachella Valley — connecting donors, partners, and nonprofit organizations to build a stronger, more generous region.

How It Works

  • One day, 200+ nonprofits: First Tuesday of March, CV Giving Day unites the valley for a 24-hour celebration of giving.
  • Anyone can give: Every dollar supports local causes — arts, education, health, the environment, youth, and more.
  • All funds stay local: 100% of gifts go directly to the nonprofits you choose.
  • Major partners: Presented by Desert Community Foundation & California Bank & Trust, with support from leading valley organizations and media.

What’s New This Year

  • New giving platform: We’ve joined MightyCause, home of GivingTuesday and other top national giving days — making giving easier, faster, and more fun.
  • Bigger prizes: Over $125,000 in prize giveaways for local nonprofits — boosting impact for groups large and small.
  • Seamless registration: Returning organizations are automatically migrated; new orgs can join in minutes. Contact info and details must be updated.
  • Real local stories: Follow daily updates, nonprofit spotlights, and stories of philanthropy right here.

CV Giving Day brings together all 9 desert cities - Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, La Quinta, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, and Coachella — plus adjacent communities of Joshua Tree, Mecca, Bermuda Dunes, Thousand Palms, Idyllwild, Salton Sea, and others.

  • Nonprofits: Register to participate, unlock prize opportunities, and reach new donors - previous participants have received up to $10k in prizes (just by registering and getting some donors).
  • Donors: Give directly to causes you care about, knowing your gift stays right here in the desert supporting both large and small nonprofits.
  • Impact Partners: You make CV Giving Day possible through your prizes that go 100% to non-profits - unless you choose the $5k or $10k levels which make the operations of CVGD possible. Either way, amplify your brand’s commitment to local good.
